TV Villain Bill Ward to Star as Abanazar in Aladdin at Palace Theatre Redditch

We are delighted to announce that Bill Ward will be bringing his signature bad boy charisma to the stage this festive season, starring as the dastardly Abanazar in the magical pantomime adventure Aladdin, running from December 8 to 4 January.

Best known for his unforgettable roles as villainous heartthrobs Charlie Stubbs in Coronation Street and James Barton in Emmerdale, Ward is no stranger to stirring up drama. Now, he’s swapping cobbles and countryside for caves of wonder and magic lamps – and he’s ready to unleash his most devious panto performance yet.

Speaking ahead of the production, Bill said:
“Playing the baddie is always the most fun, and Abanazar is the ultimate pantomime villain – full of mischief, magic, and plenty of evil laughs. I can’t wait to get on stage in Redditch and bring a bit of festive wickedness to the wonderful audiences at the Palace Theatre.”

Packed with dazzling costumes, hilarious comedy, toe-tapping tunes, and jaw-dropping special effects, Aladdin promises a magical experience for the whole family. Audiences will be whisked away on a whirlwind carpet ride as Aladdin tries to outwit Abanazar and win the heart of Princess Jasmine.

The Palace Theatre’s much-loved pantomimes are a staple of the Redditch Christmas season, and this year’s production is set to be bigger and better than ever.
