Reid Returns and Bash is Back!

Reid Returns and Bash is Back!

It’s the news Surrey pantomime audiences have been asking for; funny man Phil Reid
and Redhill favourite Simon Bashford are to return to the Harlequin Theatre this
December in the enchanting pantomime Beauty and the Beast.

The two popular panto personalities delighted audiences with their Buttons and Dandini
characters in Cinderella, entertaining adults, children and youth groups. Demand for the
winning twosome to return has been rising in recent weeks and with 2023 due to be
Simon’s tenth Christmas at the theatre, panto producers Paul Holman Associates (PHA)
have been busy working behind the scenes to get the Bash back and secure the return of
Reid!

The pantomime Beauty and the Beast is a boisterous riot of colourful characters, laugh
out loud comedy, exciting choreography and a chorus of popular songs for all generations
to enjoy. Simon will be stepping into the quintessential pantomime dame shoes as he
introduces his Dame Cheri Trifle to audiences.

Marking his tenth anniversary at the Harelquin Theatre, Simon said:
“I cannot express how excited I am to be returning to my beloved Harlequin Theatre, for
my 10th consecutive PHA Redhill Panto!

“2023 is a very special year for me as I also celebrate 40 years in showbusiness and
sharing the stage with the powerhouse talent that is Phil Reid, at my favourite venue, with
all my friends, is the icing on the cake. I can’t wait to see you all over Christmas!”

Award-winning comedian Phil swaps his playful Buttons for the funny Philippe Phillope.
He said:

“Wow! I am absolutely delighted to be back at Redhill and can't wait to get back on stage.
I cannot fully express just how proud and privileged I am to be sharing the stage with
Simon on his 10th consecutive year at The Harlequin; what a special milestone and what
an amazing man he is. I am really looking forward to working alongside him and to all the
people of Redhill; I can't wait to see you all again!"

Beauty and the Beast opens on Friday 8 December with performances until 31
December 2023. Tickets are on sale now from the Harlequin Theatre and Cinema Box
Office (01737 276500) and online (harlequintheatre.co.uk).
