Festival Favourites & Record Breakers join forces in Panto!

The adage of two’s company and three’s a crowd will be demolished this December when a trio of talent, that includes a twosome who’ve had entries in the Guinness Book of Records, bursts on the Pavilion Theatre stage in Worthing.

High on energy, big on laughs and perhaps the country’s only pantomime to have two record-breakers, the production of Sleeping Beauty welcomes the return of Fringe favourites Patrick Monahan and Katie Pritchard along with comedy geek and Magic Circle member Jay Rawlings, making his Worthing panto debut.

The award-winning Patrick Monahan is currently touring the UK with his stand-up show, Classy before he returns for a full run at the Edinburgh Festival at The Gilded Balloon with his new show, Exclusively. It was at The Gilded Balloon in 2013 when he set the then record for the world’s longest hug at a time of 25 hours and 25 minutes, along with fellow comedian Bob Slayer.

Always a hit with audiences and critics, Patrick has established a successful career with TV appearances too, including winning Show me the Funny, Splash!, Pointless Comedians and The One Show.

He appears in Sleeping Beauty as the wickedly wonderful and playfully funny pantomime baddie.

Katie Pritchard is no stranger to Edinburgh or Worthing as she makes her fourth consecutive return to romp through panto land at the Pavilion this December. Gilded with glitz and shimmering with sparkle, Katie will be waving the magic wand of fairy goodwill in her own unique, award-winning style. With wins in the Musical Comedy Awards, the 2Northdown New Comedian Competition, and an award for Best Family Friendly Show at Guildford Fringe, Katie’s appearance in Sleeping Beauty is a guaranteed win-win with audiences of all ages.

Completing the tantalisingly talented trio is Jay Rawlings who created a huge stir on Britain’s Got Talent when he broke his first Guinness World Record by balancing 11 chairs on his chin at the same time!

Since then, he has gone on to break 11 more World Records, including two at Glastonbury Festival, one live on Heart FM’s Breakfast Show with Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston, and another for Her Majesty’s Forces. His many talents have led to appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and the award-winning series, The Crown.

Jay brings his blend of comedy, magic, balancing and juggling to the Pavilion panto in the perfectly cast role of jester.

Sleeping Beauty opens 1 December and runs until 1 January 2024. Tickets are already in high-demand and can be purchased by calling the box office on 01903 206206 or online wtm.uk/panto
