Children’s laughter legend heads to the Harlequin!

Children’s TV legend Dave Benson Phillips is heading to the Harlequin Theatre thisDecember to join the  cast of this year’s magical pantomime Beauty and the Beast.

The popular entertainer made his TV debut in Playbus, which went on to be known as Playdays, before presenting the long-running BAFTA nominated Get Your Own Back. Dave spent two years waking up the nation’s children every Saturday morning in Wake Up in the Wild Room and for children of the nineties, he is instantly recognisable for the best-selling Fun Song Factory video series.


Dave hosted children’s TV programmes Bitesize, Petswap, Words and Pictures and Go for It and has reached an older audience with appearances on Celebrity Juice and BigBrother’s Bit on the Side. Adults may recognize his vocal tones from the cult E4 prank show, Bad Robots and UK audiences are getting familiar with Dave's rolling pin action in Celebrity MasterChef!

In a career that spans over three decades, pantomime has always been one of Dave’spassions, having  played to sell-out audiences and rave reviews, sharing the stage with panto greats Danny La Rue and Julian Clary to name a few. With his infectious energy and cheery humour, it’s no surprise that this legend of children’s TV is a much-lovedChristmas treat in the nation’s theatres!


He joins returning pantomime favourites Simon Bashford and Phil Reid in Beauty and the Beast at the Harlequin Theatre in Redhill from 8 to 31 December 2023.
