Fans of the Palace Theatre pantomime and Dr Who can unite this Saturday when the popular BBC 1 series of the travelling time lord features a double-dose of Marshall Lancaster.
Time travel is obviously no problem for Marshall who starred in the BBC cult series Ashes to Ashes and Life on Mars as DC Chris Skelton. His appearance in Dr Who, in an episode called The Rebel Flesh, will see Marshall playing a part in which there will be two of him; one will be recognisable.
Dr Who story lines are safely guarded but we can reveal the Dr will be in battle to prevent a war between humans and a race known as Gangers, whose world has been hit by a solar tsunami.
Filming of the episode took place in Cardiff at the beginning of the year when snow brought much of the country to a stand still. A secret source did reveal Marshall had a pretty fierce snow balling throw and Palace Theatre audience’s can be sure Marshall will be bringing plenty of wicked ways to pantoland this December when he takes on the role of Abanazar, an evil and greedy sorcerer from Old Peking, in the traditional family pantomime Aladdin.
Dr Who’s The Rebel Flesh will air on Saturday 21 May at 6:45pm on BBC 1 and Aladdin and the rest of his crew will be flying into the Palace Theatre, Newark from 7 to 31 December 2010. Tickets for the popular pantomime are on sale from the box office on 01636 655 755 or online at www.palacetheatrenewark.com
