PHA Marketing Day 17 April

A well-attended event held at the Broxbourne Civic - 29 April 2009

On Friday 17 April, PHA hosted a Marketing Day for the marketing teams from all of their venues for the forthcoming season.

It was a hugely productive day, with wonderful attendance with representatives coming from as far and wide as Derby, Redditch and even Telford.

Paul Holman said, " We at PHA did think it was a most enjoyable and interesting day. It was great to be able to share ideas."

The day started with an introduction from Paul Holman, followed by a Keynote Presentation made by the Guest Speaker, Daniel Heale.

Daniel Heale has worked in the media and marketing industry for 12 years and has held senior marketing roles with ITV, the National Lottery and Travelodge Hotels. He has developed a series of commercially successful advertising campaigns across TV, radio, cinema, press, outdoor and on digital channels. High profile websites he has launched include national-lottery.co.uk. Daniel has recently taken up a long-term marketing position with Vue Entertainment.

Daniel spent the morning session focusing on traditional and new ways of making the marketing investment work harder and invited contributions from the floor afterwards.

The afternoon was then spent in 3 discussion groups, focusing on different ways in which to increase ticket sales
(1) Marketing strategy to attract new customers
(2) The pantomime launch
(3) Marketing strategy to maintain the advertising momentum after the opening performance up to the end of the run

The day ended with a plenary session, led by Paul Holman and Daniel Heale, pulling together ideas and feedback from the groups.

It was agreed that the meeting had been a great opportunity for all marketing teams to meet and to pool ideas, opening the way for future correspondence between them.

Following the event, all venues were sent a set of useful notes, as well as a full contact sheet and an invitation to join the PHA Facebook group.
